The employees of the Central Post Office Building will soon bid farewell as the rumors were put to rest by the PhilPost Corp. that will later on move to its new home in Quezon City. The Philpost still wants to stay but they do not have the means to maintain the building. According to the Manila Times, Philpost said that they will move out before the end of the year.
The Central Post Office Building is located in Liwasang Bonifacio (Plaza Lawton). The Post Office Building was built in neo-classical architecture in 1926 by the late architect Juan Arellano. It was severely damaged in World War II, and rebuilt in 1946 preserving most of its original design. The Post Office Building is the main office of the Philippine Postal Corporation.
There were rumors before that the Fullerton Hotel of Singapore will soon occupy the Post Office Building but According to Mr. Rence Chan " Fullerton inspected the building last year during the Habagat season . I guess they backed-out after seeing the devastating floods."
